George Hutchings

George Tod Hutchings, of Doylestown, PA died on Thursday, February 17, 2011, at Jefferson Neuroscience, Philadelphia. He was 53.
He was the son of the late Paul E. and L. Jane Erhler Hutchings.
Tod grew up in Levittown, PA, attended Neshaminy High school, and received a B.S. in Engineering Science as well as a M.S. in Engineering Mechanics from Penn State University. He was a licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer.
During his career, he enjoyed employment at Timken, Ford Aerospace, Martin Marietta Astro Space (TIROS and Mars Observer programs). He found his greatest satisfaction working for Motorola as a manager of CA Systems Engineering where he received a patent for “a system for streaming encrypted conditional access data”.
Tod was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he enjoyed singing with the senior choir.
In addition to his loving wife, Lisa, with whom he shared 19 special years, he is survived by his loving children Elizabeth J. Hutchings, Paul W. Hutchings, and Gail L. Hutchings, his sister Amy Gursky and her husband, Stephen, of Honey Brook, PA. He is also survived by his many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family and dear friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, from 10:00 am until his Funeral Service 11:00 am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
His interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to American Kidney Association, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, C/O Nephrology Dept., 34th. Street & Civic Center Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19104, the Youth Orchestra of Bucks County (YOBC.org), or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
