Veronica A. Cusick (Carolan)

Veronica Anne Carolan Cusick of Newtown, PA, passed away on January 4, 2021. She was 79.

Veronica was born on October 9, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY, to George and Bridget (McLoughlin) Carolan. Educated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help and St. Joseph High School, she became well known in the Bay Ridge medical community, particularly as the office manager at a large orthopedic practice during the eighties and nineties.

In 1995, she became Grammy. In this role she spent several years in Lawrenceville, NJ and Mayfield Heights, OH before settling in Newtown, PA. In these locations she continued a part-time medical office career, while devoting herself to her grandchildren.

Most recently a parishioner of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Newtown, earlier in her life she was a long-time parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and St. Andrew the Apostle in Brooklyn, NY.

She is survived by her daughter Maureen Long and her husband George, her son James Cusick and his partner Kelly Cooper, and her four cherished grandchildren, George, Katelyn, Sarah Anne, and Alexandra Long.

She is also survived by sisters Maura Wasenius Clark and Kathleen Houston, brother George and his wife Dolores Carolan, sister-in-law Colleen Carolan, and many nieces and nephews.

In death, she joins her brother John “Jack” Carolan and her niece Colleen Ann Carolan.

In the interest of safety for Veronica’s numerous relatives and friends, the funeral mass at St. Andrew Catholic Church will be limited to immediate family at 10:00AM on Monday January 11, 2021. The live stream of her Funeral Mass will be available by going to her obituary at www.fluehr.com at the time of service.

Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chandler Hall, 99 Barclay St, Newtown, PA 18940 (web site https://ch.kendal.org/ ).
