Robert W. Bonner

Robert W. Bonner of Warwick, formerly of Feasterville died peacefully on Friday February 12, 2021 at his home surrounded by his devoted family. He was 88.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the beloved husband of 66 years to Grace Cochran Bonner, the son of the late William J. and Jane Karlewski Bonner, and the father of late Robert W. Bonner Jr.

Bob was a graduate of LaSalle High School, class of 1950. He received his undergraduate degree in Education from LaSalle College in 1954 with a Regular Army commission. He had been a member of The American Legion Post 798 for 32 years.

After serving in Korea as a 1st Lieutenant, he resigned his commission and returned home to resume his career as a teacher. He taught in the Philadelphia School District for 40 years, spending most of his time at Watson Comly Elementary School. He thoroughly enjoyed his many years of teaching, inspiring young minds and cultivating lasting relationships with many former students well after retirement. His passion for hunting and fishing fostered many lasting friendships complete with shared fish tales about the size of the catch and passing blame for the ones that got away. He enjoyed woodworking and was the go-to resource for repairing whatever needed fixing. After retirement, he and Grace traveled extensively, visiting Ireland, Egypt, Israel, Greece, and Mexico among others.

In addition to his beloved wife, Grace, he is survived by his children and their spouses; Joseph R. Bonner and his wife Lisa of Doylestown, Dianne Kane and her husband Timothy, of Langhorne, William J. Bonner and his wife Margaret Mary of Florida., Denise A. Rube and her husband Robert of Warrington, and his daughter-in-law Kathleen Bonner of Florida. Bob is also survived by his 14 grandchildren and his 7 great grandchildren.
