Patricia G. McGlynn of Warminster PA and Beach Haven NJ, died peacefully on Monday March 15, 2021, surrounded by her family at Abington Memorial Hospital, in Abington, PA. She was 88 years old.

Born in Philadelphia, Pat was the beloved wife of Edwin F. McGlynn for the past 64 years. She was the daughter of the late Philip and Marie Clymer Galvin, and sister of the late Richard and Dennis Galvin.

Pat was a graduate of Little Flower High School for Girls, class of 1950 and she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Chestnut Hill College in 1954.

Pat was an independent and colorful spirit who quickly touched the hearts of those who met her.  Her professional career spanned many decades starting as an educator in the Philadelphia public school system, then as a recruiter at Northeastern Hospital’s school of nursing in NE Philadelphia, and culminating as Career Counselor at her alma mater, Chestnut Hill College.  She was a well-educated and cultured professional. As such, she was a role model for many young women showing them that the only limitations are those you put on yourself.  She influenced many lives over her 23 years in this position.   She accomplished all of this while raising four children, who, along with her husband and seven grandchildren, were the loves of her life.  She was happiest when with her family, preferably all at once, and thoroughly enjoyed being engaged in all of their lives.

Pat was an active member of Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club for more than 50 years. Channeling her love of writing, she served as the editor of the club’s weekly newsletter, the Eggbeater, for 17 years. She also took joy in meeting and welcoming new members, serving as the chair of the membership committee for many years.  Her years of thoughtful leadership and active engagement were recognized in 1993, when she was awarded the Commodore’s Cup for her continued and outstanding service.

She also shared her enthusiasm and passions with the community at Ann’s Choice in Warminster. She spread her love and knowledge of literature by running the book club and hosting a local television program produced at Ann’s Choice called the Wonderful World of Books. She also celebrated her Irish heritage by founding and running the Irish club.

At age 85 she enthusiastically accepted a position on the board of the Warminster Library.  She was an active participant on the board up until shortly before her death.

She will be remembered always for her love of family, love of life and spirited conversation.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her devoted children, Kevin (Margie), Shawn (Jennifer), Terry (Debbie) and Maureen (Larry) Koerwer and her seven dear grandchildren (Emily, Megan, John, Corey, Kelly, Connor and Ian) and her sister-in-law Philomena Galvin.

Contributions in her memory may be made to either the Warminster Township Library or the Beach Haven Library at the addresses below.
