Marie T. Horlacher (Cooke)

Marie T. Horlacher

Marie T. Horlacher, formerly of Newtown, died peacefully on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 82.

Born June 29, 1938, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Vincent A. and Mary Erfurt Cooke, the sister of Eileen Mangeney and husband Joe, and the widow of the late Harry E. Horlacher, to whom she was married 46 years.

An active member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Newtown, for 42 years, Marie enjoyed knitting, ceramics, stained glass, and gardening. Marie, along with her late husband, Harry, were frequent visitors to Walt Disney World and traveled the world together. Marie enjoyed her summers at the jersey shore for many years watching her grand children play on the beach. Marie was her grandchildren’s biggest fan, attending as many sporting events as possible, rain or shine, school functions and plays, awards banquets and dance recitals. You could always find her somewhere the grandchildren were.

Marie is survived by daughter Linda Brazil and husband Philip, of Levittown, son David Horlacher and wife Lynda, of Warminster, son-in law David Campbell, of Latrobe; grandchildren Philip Brazil and wife Ashley, Matthew Brazil and wife Lauren, Timothy Horlacher, Amanda Horlacher, Nathaniel Campbell and fiancé Emily, Allison Campbell, and Bridget Brazil, great-grandchildren Jack Brazil, Molly Brazil, and Lily Brazil.

In addition to her husband and parents, Marie is preceded in passing by daughter Deborah Campbell, and brothers Charles and Vincent.

Family and friends are invited to join Marie’s family from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown. A Memorial Mass will follow at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place at Olde Saint Andrews Church Cemetery.

The family would like to extend special appreciation to the staff at Loving Arms Elder Care, Warminster, for the exceptional care they afforded Marie in her final days.
