James F. Maynes

Dr. James F. Maynes, of Buckingham, PA died on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Doylestown Hospital. He was 81.

He was the beloved husband of 27 years to Karla N. Woodward Maynes.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Phillip and Helen Manuszak Maynes.

Jim graduated from St Joseph’s University and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Temple University. He loved dentistry and caring for his patients. Jim continued to practice until his retirement in 2018. His dedication to continuing education in the field of dentistry earned him the prestigious Masters award from the Academy of General dentistry in 2001.

Jim’s smile could light up a room and his positive attitude and endless energy were inspiring to all. He was an avid runner. Jim learned to ride horses at 50 years old and fell in love with the “cowboy” life that he shared with wife, Karla. He was active in the PA Cutting horse Association.

In addition to his loving wife, he is also survived by his children James F. Maynes Jr. and Leigh of Winter Springs FL, Michelle Gallarelli and her husband Frank of Windermere, FL, Lisa Woodward and David Bumm of Virginia Beach, VA, and his sister Suzanne Wiercinski (late Jack) of Warminster. He is also survived by his six grandchildren; Chandler, Marisa and Carson Maynes and Analise, Lauren and Madison Gallarelli.

Jim loved his family above all. Barely a day went by that he didn’t speak to his children on the phone. He was their biggest champion, supporter, and cheerleader. He loved being a proud Grandpop to each of his 6 grandchildren and he had a way of making each grandchild feel uniquely special.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday, May 26, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.)
