Albert Charles Struck

Albert Charles Struck, age 73, passed away in his home of Richboro, on Saturday, May 21, 2022.  He and his wife, the former Ruthanne Curry, had celebrated 47 years of marriage on October 20th 2021.

Al was born January 30th, 1949, in Philadelphia.  He was the son of the late Albert and Eve Struck.  Albert graduated from Bishop Cardinal O’Hara in Springfield, PA.  He went on to attend DeSales University, formly Allentown College and graduated with a bachelors of science in Political Science.  Struckie relished his time at Allentown as a Centaur playing shortstop. His Allentown days lived on beyond his years as a student as he had the pleasure of establishing many lifelong friendships and continued on as an active Alumni.  Al was formerly a teacher in the Chester County School District before discovering his passion for sales.  Al quickly excelled and became Vice President of Sales for GlaxoSmithKline for 26 years and then at LabCorp for 10 years before retiring.  In addition to his career, Al coached his son’s special Olympics softball team and played in the local softball league.  Every person that had the pleasure of knowing him, became an integral part of his life.

Buddy, as many family and friends knew him,  was a compassionate husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle and friend.  He never hesitated to support and help all who he knew and loved. He could enter a room and be greeted by many, remembering details that they had shared about their life.  He had a gift for conversation and storytelling that made it easy to talk to him and someone who you sought out for advice.

Al was above all a family man through and through. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for his family. He raised a family that he adored with the love of his life, Ruthanne. They enjoyed vacationing as a family and traveling together.  Al was known for his sourdough french toast on Saturday mornings.  Al and his son, David, shared a love of music and good food!  Al loved nothing more than to put a smile on anyone’s face, especially Dave’s.  He also enjoyed spending any second he could with his grandchildren, daughter Debbie and son-in-law, Will.  Pops was always ready for reading a story in his gold chair, singing silly songs and making them giggle.

Albert had a love for entertaining, good company and spending time with family and friends establishing long lasting traditions.  He always enjoyed bringing everyone together for parties and celebrations, especially his 4th of July and Christmas party.

Buddy was a die hard Phillies, Penn State, Eagles and Villanova Basketball fan.  During March Madness, a time of year that was high up on his favorites list, he could almost always be found watching the games at home in his basement only allowing those in or out that were bringing hoagies and snacks while rooting for Villanova Basketball. Being the baseball enthusiast that he was, Bud and his friends tasked themselves with traveling to visit as many ballparks as they could across the country as one of their many gatherings.

Albert is survived by his wife Ruthanne Struck, and son David Struck of Richboro; daughter Debbie and husband Will, two grandchildren Liam and Maeve McGowan, all of Audubon; sisters Priscilla Evans and husband Tom Evans of Haverford; Elizabeth Roney and husband Larry of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; and Barbara Ruane and husband Michael of Malvern; in addition to many other family and close friends.

Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, June 1st from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM at St. Bede the Venerable the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966.  Entombment will follow at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville, PA.
