James Gerald Smith

James Gerald Smith of Dahlonega, GA passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022.  He was the loving husband of Karen Johns Smith.  He was 58 years old.

Born February 24, 1964, in Philadelphia, PA Jimmy was the son of Edna M. (Broomhead) Smith and the late Thomas N. Smith.

Jimmy was an avid sports fan who always rooted for his hometown Philadelphia teams.  He also loved watching Notre Dame Football, just like his late grandfather, father, and brother.

Growing up, Jimmy played soccer and was a superb goalkeeper.  Jimmy had an appreciation for gardening and enjoyed showing others his harvests.  When he came back to visit his hometown, he always enjoyed a good cheesesteak.  One of his favorite things to do was to spend time in Avalon, NJ with his family.  He loved watching the day begin with a sunrise on the beach and end with a sunset.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Thomas and his brother, Tommy.  Jimmy is survived by his wife, Karen, his loving mother, Edna, his three children; James Ryan and his wife Sarah, Madison Michaela-Marie and Noah William-Michael, his stepchildren, Michael and his wife Denyse and Zachary, his grandchildren; Zachary, Everly, and Daisy, his siblings; Michael, Lisa and her husband Joe, Allison and her husband David, his nephews and nieces; Joey and his wife Katie, Danny and his wife Jess, Cassidy, Lauryn, and Andrew.  His best four-legged friends were Cooper, Charlie, and Marley.  He is also survived by other friends and family that will help carry on his memory.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Thursday, June 9, 2022, from 10:00 to 10:45 at St. Bede the Venerable Chuch, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966.  A funeral mass to follow at 11:00am.  His interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne.
