David P. Napoleon Sr.
David Paul Napoleon, Sr. passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Holland Village, surrounded by his loving family. He was 100 years old.
Born August 29, 1921, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, he was a son of the late Camillo and Mary Vittori Napoleon, and husband of the late Ruby Smith Napoleon, to whom he was married 56 years until her passing in 2006.
David and Ruby loved to travel and enjoyed attending the sporting events of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Well into his 90’s, David was an avid golfer as a member of the Grasshoppers Golf Club and even played Pebble Beach with his grandson. He loved dancing, cooking and never let a good joke or opportunity to laugh pass him by. He also enjoyed spending time with family, friends and neighbors making everyone feel welcome at the table.
David had a gift of solving mechanical problems which he used to maintain ship engines in WWII as a member of the Coast Guard and throughout his accomplished career at General Felt. David was a devoted member of St Bede’s Catholic Church and appreciated home visits from the pastoral team to share stories and connect with God. Raised through the depression as the youngest in a loving family, David passed along the life lesson, “If there’s a will, there’s a way”.
David is survived by: children David P. Napoleon, Jr. and wife Deborah, of Holland, and Paula Ruth Napoleon and Patricia Sapnas, of Langhorne; grandchildren Nicole Dalberto and husband Matthew, Matthew Napoleon and wife Amy, and W. Maxwell Glenn; and great-grandchildren Gia, Carina, Dominic, Joey and Devon. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in passing by siblings Jack, Gilda, Violet, Fiore, Aldino, and Annie.
Relatives and friends are invited to join David’s family at his visitation on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, from 9:00 AM, until his Prayer Service at 11:00 AM, at Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd (at Holland Rd), Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
