Shirley L. Carpitella (Bickum)

Shirley L Bickum Carpitella died Sunday, July 17, 2022 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA. She was 80 years old.

Shirley was the beloved wife of the late Thomas E Carpitella Sr. and mother of the late Thomas E Carpitella Jr.

A woman of varied interests, Shirley always found a way to connect with others. She loved reading, particularly Anne of Green Gables and Anne with an E. She was a SciFi enthusiast and enjoyed crafting, particularly sewing and crocheting. In the warmer months, she could be found gardening and traveling. She even traveled cross-county by herself, twice!

She was a Colonial Dame and a member of the Daughters of the Revolution. An ardent genealogist, her family traces back to the 1600s in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

Above all else, Shirley loved her family and helping others.

She will be missed and remembered by her daughters and son-in-law, Barbara and Paul MacInnis and Diane Olsen; her grandchildren, Karl Olsen Jr. and his wife Glorymadi, Candace MacInnis, and Victoria MacInnis and her fiance’ Devan Vandervort. Shirley is also survived by her brother Fred Bickum.

Relatives and friends may greet Shirley’s family on Sunday, July 24, 2022 from 1:00pm, until a Time of Remembrance at 2:30pm, at the Joseph A Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown Richboro Road (at Holland Road) in Richboro, PA 18954.

Her interment will take place privately.
