Christopher L. Messina

Christopher L. Messina of Warminster died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving and devoted family on Tuesday, July 19, 2022.  He was 63.

He was the beloved husband of 32 years Catherine Whelan Messina and the loving father of the late David Messina.

Born in Abington, he was the son of the late Joseph P. Messina and Dorothy Quattrocciochi Betik and the brother of the late Thomas and Joseph Messina and Linda J. Saldutti.

Chris worked for 35 years at Oliver Tolas Healthcare Packaging and took immense pride in his work. He was very passionate about music and was the long term keyboard player in the band Dirt Cheap and played in many other bands throughout his life. He shared his love of music with those close to him from taking them to concerts to introducing bands and albums both new and old that he loved. Along with music, he loved coaching youth sports. Starting with his sons at a young age, he coached multiple sports including baseball, basketball, and football. He coached SJR CYO, Warrington athletics and was the head coach of the Archbishop Wood freshman football team for 10 years. Chris also enjoyed cooking, fishing and watching sports especially his beloved Flyers. He was an extremely devoted father and the very best friend and husband who will be missed beyond words

In addition to his beloved wife Cathy, Chris is survived by his loving children; Christopher Messina and his wife Lauren of Schwenksville, Thomas Messina and his wife Dova of Palmyra, NJ, James Messina of Philadelphia and Catie, Josh, and Amanda Messina all of Warminster.  He is also survived by his grandson Christian, his brother Stephen M. Terrell and his wife Paula, his sister Victoria A. Peterson, his brother in law Tom Peterson, and his grand-puppies Leo and Millie.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Monday, July 25, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and his Funeral Mass on Tuesday July 26, 2022 at 11:00am, in St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 856 Euclid Avenue Warrington, PA 18976.  His interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Savage Sisters at 187 Meredith Avenue, Bryn Mawr PA. Savage sister works towards providing thoughtful, trauma-informed resources for those recovering from substance use disorders.
