

Christopher S. Yates
Christopher S. Yates of Fairless Hills died July 18 after a long illness. He was 73. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of Franklin Yates and Alison Seckel Yates. He was a life-long resident of Bucks County and retired as a food market manager and house painter.
Chris is survived by his son Christopher Yates (Linsey), two daughters Jamie Yates (Jeff Hopkins), Megan Yates Wachter (Gino). He is also survived by his sister Amy Yates Wuelfing (Howard) and two brothers F. David Yates (Susan) and J. Scott Yates (Lynn). He had seven grandchildren: Riley, Avery, Kayleigh, Kevin, Carter, Morgan, and Olivia.
Chris graduated from Pennsbury High School in 1968 and attended Bucks County Community College. As a youngster, he was a pitcher on the 1961 Levittown American Team that won the Eastern Regional United States Championship and played in the Little League World Series. In high school, he pitched for the baseball team and was honored as a member of the All-Bucks County Team. He also played for his college team.
Later, Chris was an avid baseball fan and a staunch supporter of the Phillies. He coached various youth athletic teams in Bucks County including the varsity baseball team at Morrisville High School.
He was interred at Newtown Cemetery at a private ceremony.
