Charlotte I. Walter (Ivins)

Charlotte I. Walter of Doylestown, formerly of Dublin and Richboro, died peacefully on Friday August 26, 2022 at Pine Run Health Care, Doylestown. She was 83.

Born in Abington PA she was the beloved wife of the late Charles B. “Charlie” Walter, daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Cornell Ivins, and former wife of the late H. Warren Hogeland.

Charlotte was a graduate of Council Rock High School, class of 1957. She was involved as a class officer and in various school and district choirs. She attended Bucks County Community College and received her Associates of Arts: Management/Marketing degree, graduating with Honors, in 2001.

Charlotte was raised on her family farm in Richboro PA where she helped her parents with various farm chores. She began her working career as a bank teller and later in life was employed with the zoning office at Northampton Township. She lastly retired from Council Rock School District as the Human Resource Director, where she has been called “a legend”, in 2005.

Charlotte was a member of Soroptimist International of Indian Rock since 1981, where she served in numerous offices. She was also the Council Rock School Board Secretary for 30+ years. She was past President and longtime member of PSBA (Pennsylvania School Board Association).  She was also the secretary, regional representative, Professional Standards Program Chair and recipient of the merit award for PAEOP (Pennsylvania Association of Educational Office Professionals).  She was also a longtime member and past president to the FOP (Fraternal Order of Police) Ladies Auxiliary Lodge 53. In addition, she was in many garden and singing groups, such as the Lingohocken Garden Club, Weeds and Seeds, Love Notes, church choirs through Addisville Reformed Church in Richboro and Doylestown Presbyterian.  Above all, Charlotte was an inspirational, caring, fun-loving, down-to-earth, strong lady who always wanted to help others in any way possible and will be deeply missed.

Charlotte is survived by her 3 children, Dale Hogeland and his wife Kim, Drew Hogeland, Dawn Hogeland Cascarino and her husband Steve. She is also survived by her step-children, Charles Walter, Jr. and his wife Cheryl and Charlene Borah. She also survived by her dear grandchildren, Melanie, Sean, Jamie, step grandchildren, Mackenzie (Cody), Charles (Angela) and Jessica (David), Ken Jr., Tom (Kim).

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Friday September 2, 2022 from 10:00am until her Funeral Services 11:00am at Doylestown Presbyterian Church 127 East Court St. Doylestown, PA.

Interment will follow in Newtown Cemetery, Newtown.
