Born in York, Pennsylvania Susan was the cherished mother of Beth Beans Gilbert and her husband Chris, Barbara Beans, and Jennifer Beans Keiser and her husband Rick, and the beloved daughter of the late Linus B. and Anita Thelma Sipe Topper. Susan was blessed with many wonderful memories during her life, but what brought a smile to her face and a twinkle to her eyes were her 10 beloved grandchildren; Lauren Soverino and her husband Connor, Gregory Murray and his wife Michelle, Alexandra Gilbert, Christopher Gilbert, Chase Keiser, Tyler Gilbert, Connor Keiser, Paige Gilbert, Carter Keiser, and Charlie Keiser. Her dear sister, Tina Yoder and her husband Tad also survive her.

She graduated from St. Agnes Academy in Indianapolis Indiana in June 1957 and went on to attend Seton Hill University, Greensburg, PA where she studied home economics. In life, Susan had a passion for creative endeavors, and was skilled at the art of painting, needlepointing, crafting and knitting. She was an avid bridge player, gardener, and voracious reader. With family and friends, she traveled all across the world. Skilled in the kitchen with both cooking and baking, she loved to entertain loved ones in her beautiful home. Susan volunteered frequently at Doylestown Hospital and also served as an elder at Doylestown Presbyterian Church. A regular attendee of church service, her faith was of utmost importance, a dedication she shared with her family and friends. Susan also volunteered for the church’s 456 Club for several years, attended Bible Study, and served as a Stephen Minister. She was known for her quick wit, infectious smile that would brighten any room, and her benevolent spirit.
