Dr. Harold W. Miller Jr.

Dr. Harold William Miller Jr. DDS of Lansdale, PA, a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on November 5, 2022 due to complications from a recent stroke. He was 93.

Harold was born in Lewisburg, PA on May 30, 1929; he was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy McCann Miller, the oldest child of the late Ruth Wohlhieter and Harold Miller of Mifflinburg, PA. Brother of the late Mary Lynn, his daughter and son Kathleen and William.

He graduated from Mifflinburg High School in 1947 and Bucknell University in 1951 with a BS in Biology. He went on to receive his DDS degree from Temple University School of Dentistry in 1955.

From 1955 until 1958, he served in the US Air Force in San Antonio and Dallas, Texas. It was there that he met fellow Pennsylvanian Dorothy Jean McCann and they were married in 1957.

He returned to Pennsylvania in 1958 and set up his first dental practice in Feasterville, PA. He continued to practice dentistry in the Philadelphia suburbs into his early 80s.

Harold's interests included sailing on Stillwater Lake in the Poconos during the 1970s, and traveling with family to points of interest throughout the northeastern US.  He also took the family on cruises in the Caribbean and along the Alaskan coast. Time spent with family always made him happiest. He enjoyed United States and local history and tracing his family tree. Walking with friends and family in the many local parks was also a favorite pastime.

Harold is survived by his sisters; Barbara and Helen of Mifflinburg, PA, his children Joseph Miller and Andrew Miller both of Austin, TX, Robert Miller and his wife Michelle of Endwell, NY, James Miller and Patricia of Jacksonville, FL, and Daniel Miller and his wife Mary of North Wales, PA. He is also survived by his four grandchildren.

We would like to thank the staff at Neshaminy Manor Long Term Care Facility in Warrington, PA for their kind care of our father.

His family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, November 13, 2022 from 11:30AM until his Funeral Service 1:00PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 241 East Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901. His interment will be held on Monday, November 14, 2022 at 10:00AM at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.
