Maria P. Henkensiefken

Maria P. Henkensiefken of Newtown, died peacefully on Tuesday  December 27, 2022 at her home shortly after coming home from having attended 9:00am Mass at St. Andrew Catholic Church, which she did every day for 44 years. She was 82.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the beloved wife of the late Donald Henkensiefken for 47 years. Daughter of the late William and Mary Johnson.

Maria grew up in Philadelphia, and was a graduate of Olney High School, class of 1958. A talented young woman with lots of people skills. Maria went to work for PNB Bank and rose thru the ranks and thru many mergers and 25 plus years of service to becoming a Vice President at Wells Fargo Bank before retiring in 1995.

She was a talented artist who loved to paint in watercolors and oils, she and her late husband Don loved to travel, especially in their Motor Home all across the country, and so enjoyed all the people they met year after year. Maria had a very special group of her high school friends that got together monthly, for over 25 years.                                                                             Helping others is what she looked forward to especially making sure that Aide for Friends, and Meals on Wheels had a full refrigerator at St. Andrew’s, if it was low she filled it up quickly and quietly.

Maria will be missed for her spirited laugh and warm smiles.

She is survived by her supportive children, Timothy Meehan and his wife, Denise, Michael Meehan and his wife Joan, Robert Meehan, David Henkensiefken and his wife Lisa and Donald Henkensiefken, Jr.  Maria was the proud grandmother of, Cathryn, Sean, Michael, Joseph, Dillon, David and Danielle and a doting great grandmother of Adelynn, Brody and Peyton.  She will also be missed by her loving friends Ollie and Anne, and her beloved Molly.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Wednesday January 11, 2023, at St. Andrew Catholic Church 81 Swamp Rd. Newtown from 10:00am until her Funeral Mass 11:30am.

Contributions in her memory Aide for Friends at St. Andrew Catholic Church at the above address would be appreciated.
