Pilar C. Lim (Cardenas)

Pilar Lim, 67, of Doylestown, PA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.

Pilar was born in Quezon City, Philippines, in 1955, to Santiago Cardenas, Jr. and Margarita de Guzman. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, sister Virginia Cardenas, brother Francis Cardenas, and brother Ricky Cardenas.

Pilar leaves behind her husband Cesar, son Ezekiel Lim (Maryann), daughter Sarah Lim (Ian), son James Lim (Dana); siblings Perla Lopez (Joe), Charlie Cardenas (Nenette), sister Isabel Saucelo; and grandchildren Miles, Zoey, and Aurora.

Pilar was a Senior Biostatistician at Janssen for 29 years, where her research aided in the development of many pharmaceuticals and she was a beloved mentor to many of her colleagues, who have mentioned that they would not be where they are in their careers without her. Pilar attended the Wharton School of Business, where she earned a Ph.D. in Statistics. Aside from her family, her faith in Jesus Christ was the most important thing to her. She was an enthusiastic reader of scripture and theology, having amassed an impressive library of theological books. She also enjoyed British literature and cinema, which influenced her subtle sense of humor. Her extensive travel around the world quenched her curiosity and love of exploration. Pilar conducted herself with drive and purpose, making every moment statistically significant.

Friends and relatives are invited to Pilar’s visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 21, at Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, located at 241 E. Butler Ave, New Britain, PA 18901. A funeral service will take place at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Doylestown Cemetery.
