Michael "Mike" A. Katz

Michael A. Katz, of Doylestown, PA died on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Doylestown Hospital. He was the beloved companion of over 33 years to Anita L Camera. Michael was born in Philadelphia on March 27th,1946 and was one of three sons of the late Harold and Libby Press Katz.

Michael spent his professional life working in hospitality services. He worked at Doylestown Country Club for over 30 years as a bartender and then the beverage manager. He was honored for his service with a notable retirement celebration acknowledging the joy he brought to hundreds of people. His most recent work was with the Fluehr Funeral Home, where he greeted and supported grieving families. He was known by all as a gentle listener with a ready laugh and warm spirit. His dry sense of humor would catch you off guard and encourage you to forget the challenges of the day, a talent which brought comfort to people at work and at home. He was a lover of music, who appreciated every genre and had an encyclopedic knowledge of all musicians. He would never turn down an invitation to go fishing, a hobby he enjoyed with his son, Jesse. He was regularly seen out and about walking his dog, Bodie.   

He is survived by his son Jesse Dylan Katz of Dublin, his life partner Anita Camera, his two brothers Brian Katz of Doylestown and Larry Katz of Philadelphia, niece Moira Katz, nephew Sam Katz, nephew Aaron Katz, nephew Seth Katz,  his step-son, Scott C. Smith and his wife Shawna of Cape Town, South Africa, step-daughter, Samantha E. Camera and her husband Ian Camera of Amherst, Massachusetts. He is also survived by his step-grandchildren Ella Smith, Matteo Smith, Jonas Camera and Julian Camera, by whom he was known as Saba. He was a father figure for many people including his beloved Daniel Whitcomb and Debbie Gerfin. 

A celebration of Michael's life will take place on Friday, February 10th at 2pm at the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center 3805 Old Easton Road Doylestown, PA 18902.  Park by the Main Entrance; Orange Building
