Joyce M. Drexler (Masek)

Joyce M. Drexler, 90, of Doylestown, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023.

She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Drexler, who passed away in 2005.

Born April 16, 1933 in St. Paul, MN, she was a daughter of the late Cyril and Therese (Lang) Masek.

Joyce proudly lived her Catholic faith and set an example of selfless love of others. She was an endeared friend to many whom she got to know while working as a pharmacy assistant at Neshaminy Manor, volunteering at Doylestown Hospital and her active involvement in faith groups at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church where she was a long timer parishioner.

During the last few months, it was the support and love of countless friends and family members that lifted her up, strengthened her and brought much comfort and joy.

Her love of God guided all that she did, especially in her later years when she faced health challenges that she confronted courageously and without complaint. She relied on the intercession of several “good friends” as she called them, to see her through the days including St. Pio, St. Anthony, St. Joseph and of course the Blessed Mother.

Kind, compassionate, caring, giving, humble and loving, Joyce always had a good word to share with others and was always genuinely interested to learn about their lives. She touched so many who felt blessed for having known her and who were grateful for their inclusion in her daily prayer intentions, which were known to be very potent.

She is survived by her five sons, James and his wife Janet of Tucson, AZ, Blake and his wife Janet of New Canaan, CT, Craig and his wife Sally of Doylestown, Brad and his wife Ellen of Allentown and Scott of Pittsburgh; as well as 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son John, a sister Marlene, and a brother Richard.

Her family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 9:30am until her Funeral Mass at 10:30am in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 235 East State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901. Her interment will take place in Our lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, Doylestown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Joyce Drexler Scholarship Fund at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, Doylestown, 215-348-5907.
