Edward J. Curran Sr.

Edward J. Curran, Sr., of Newtown PA passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at St. Mary Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was 92 years old.

Born in Philadelphia, PA Edward was the beloved son of the late Francis Curran and Emma Jones, the beloved husband of Elizabeth Furey and brother of Francis Curran, Jeremiah Curran, Grace Stinson and Mary Kennedy.

Edward was a devoted husband and father. He was a faithful member of the parish family at St. Bede the Venerable Church in Holland, PA and was committed to his Catholic faith. Edward proudly served in the Army where he defended our country in the Korean War. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and also loved to golf. He loved to watch all of the Philadelphia sports teams where he cheered them on surrounded by family and friends.  

Edward is survived by his devoted children and their spouses: Edward J. Curran, Jr. and Kathleen of Holland, PA, Michael Curran and Helene of Marlton, NJ, Timothy Curran and Maria of Holland, PA, and Kevin Curran and Jennifer of Schwenksville, PA; eight grandchildren, Danielle, Nicholas, Megan, Denise, Julia, Timothy, Jr., Ethan, Sophia and nine great grandchildren, Lyla, Luke, Cooper, Kaylee, Connor, Patrick, Logan, Charlie, Jayden and one sweet baby girl on the way.

Edward’s family will receive friends on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 10am until 11:30am at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA. A funeral mass will follow at 11:30am. Interment will take place on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 11am at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, Pa with military honors.
