Obituaries Rosemarie Clark (Schmitt)
Rosemarie Schmitt Clark died peacefully in her home at Pennswood Village, on Friday, August 25, 2023. She was 88 years old.
Rosemarie was the beloved wife of the late Dewey Clark. The couple had been married almost 65 years when Dewey died in 2022. She was the daughter of the late Fred K Schmitt and Marie Belledin Schmitt of Elkins Park, PA, and the sister of the late Frederick K Schmitt.
She graduated from Chestnut Hill College in 1957 with a BA in French, was an elementary school teacher, and a stay-at-home mom.
Rosemarie was a member of the Thursday Morning Club in Madison, NJ serving as Treasurer, and then as TMC President from 1997-1999. She was added to the club Honor Roll in 2002.
She served as a Master Gardener from 2010-2022, was known for her beautiful gardens in all of her homes, and for taking an active role in guiding community landscaping projects.
Rosemarie and Dewey Clark lived in many places, notably Brussels, Belgium, Holland,PA, Madison,NJ, and Lawrenceville,NJ before moving to Pennswood Village in 2014.
Rosemarie is survived by her children, Marianne Clark, Michael Clark, and his wife, Kristine. She will be missed by her loving grandchildren, Sara and Andrew Rubenstein and Connor and Ryan Clark. Rosemarie will also be missed by her brother- and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pennswood Village Foundation Hospice Fund.
