Joan H. Hoffer (Galbraith)

Joan H. Hoffer, 91, of Meadowbrook, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Clifford L. Hoffer, Sr., who passed away in 2001.

Born December 20, 1931 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Straub) Galbraith. 

Joan was a graduate of Olney High School and a member of the Color Guard.  She married the love of her life, Cliff, in 1952.  As a devoted wife and mother, she and Cliff raised their family on Wesleyan Road in Northeast Philadelphia before moving to Bensalem in 1967.  Joan worked as an administrator for Villager and Union Fidelity before retiring to enjoy many trips to their favorite vacation destination, Disney World. She will forever be remembered for her famous “Butter Sponge” cake.  

Joan is survived by her loving son Clifford L. Hoffer, Jr. (Cynthia). She will be greatly missed by her six grandchildren, Jennifer, Jamie, Christopher, Courtney, Amanda, and Matthew; her seven great-grandchildren, Samantha, James, Autumn, Benjamin, Emma, Theodore, and Maeve; and her faithful pup, Poppy.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Koehler; son-in-law, William Koehler; and brother, Robert Galbraith.

In keeping with Joan’s wishes, services and interment will be held privately.
