Thomas W. McArdle

Thomas W. McArdle, 77, of Lansdale, passed away Monday, September 4, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Joan Terruso McArdle.

Born June 27, 1946 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late William and Mary (Carrick) McArdle.

Tom grew up in Upper Darby and graduated from Villanova University in 1968 with a BS in Mathematics. He earned his MBA from Drexel University in 1976. Tom’s first job out of college was working at GE, writing computer code for astronaut life support systems for the Apollo Space Program. He subsequently worked as a Corporate Strategic Planner for Unisys Corporation. Tom was a devoted and loving husband, father, Pop Pop, and brother. He loved desserts, Wawa coffee, having donuts and taking walks with his grandsons, Villanova basketball and Sea Isle sunsets. His family and friends will remember his kindness, his calm, quiet demeanor and his terrific sense of humor.

Along with his wife, Joan, Tom is survived by two daughters, Gia Maccari (Peter) and Paula Della Penna (Jason); four grandchildren, Thomas, Jack, Andrew, and Alex; three siblings, Paul McArdle, Regina (Jeanne) Clayton, and David McArdle.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 10:00 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am at Dock Woods Community Chapel, 275 Dock Drive, Lansdale. Interment will be held privately.
