Francis R. Burns

Francis R. “Frank” Burns, 73, of Hatfield, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Anne M. (Suermann) Burns for 52 years.

Born October 17, 1949 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Russell H. and Adele E. (Hallman) Burns.

Frank was a 1971 graduate from Temple University with a bachelors degree in Architectural Engineering.  However, his passion for coins became his career path for the rest of his life.  Frank enjoyed many camping adventures, bowling with friends and family, and taking vacations to national parks.  He was also the best whistler and hummer in town, and never passed up a good chocolate chip cookie or ice cream.  He was a wonderful dad that loved his three girls very much.  He also loved spending time with his grandkids whether it be fishing, watching the cows, or reading ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.  Frank will be missed by all those that knew him.

Along with his wife, Anne, Frank is survived by three daughters, Monica Shah (Neerav), Brigette DiMarino (Gabriel), and Danielle Caballero (Joel); six grandchildren, Corey, Dominic, Mia, Layla, Alexandra, and Leonardo; and 10 brothers and sisters in law, Miriam, Joseph, Michael, Lawrence, Paul, Clare, Rita, Teresa, Robert, and Richard.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 9:30 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am at St. Cyril of Jerusalem Church, 1410 Almshouse  Road, Jamison. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.

Contributions in Frank’s name can be made to the National Park Foundation (give.nationalparks.org).
