Patricia Dolores King (Dunleavy)

Patricia Dolores Dunleavy King, of Clifton Heights, PA, died peacefully on September 9, 2023. She was 63 years old.

Born in Darby, PA, Patricia was the beloved daughter of Patricia McCullough Dunleavy and the late Cornelius Patrick Dunleavy; and was the sister of the late Kathleen Dunleavy.

Patricia, or “Trish” as she was called by friends and family, was known for her compassionate heart, wonderful sense of humor (and infectious laughter), and her unwavering selflessness. These qualities were demonstrated through Trish’s work as an assistant preschool teacher for over 20 years at Saint Andrew Catholic School. Throughout two-plus decades, she helped teach countless two-, three-, four-year old children, and she left such a tremendous impact on her students and their families that many of them continued to keep in contact with her long after they left her classroom.

Additionally, Trish was an avid reader who, during her summers off, would sometimes read up to seven books a week; she was a lover of many types of music and enjoyed going to country music concerts with her children and sister; and she was a passionate Philadelphia Phillies fan—never missing a game as she rooted on her favorite players, particularly Chase Utley, J.T. Realmuto, and Trea Turner.

In addition to her mother, Patricia Dunleavy, Patricia is survived by her children, Courtney King and Christopher King, and her sister and brother-in-law, Maureen and Stephen Allen. She was the loving aunt to Sean Allen.

Relatives and friends may greet Patricia's family from 10:00am, until the start of her Funeral Mass, 11:30am, on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Road in Newtown, PA 18940. Her interment will take place privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Glioblastoma Research Organization, at 447 Broadway, 2nd Floor, #41 in New York, NY 10013 or at www.gbmresearch.org/donate; or to Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation at 13770 Noel Road; Suite 801889 in Dallas, TX 75380, or at www.komen.org
