Mary Sheila Singer (O'Neill)

Mary Sheila Singer, 85, of Warminster, passed away January 23, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph C. Singer, who passed away in 2021.

Born January 25, 1938 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Marie (Bernhardt) O’Neill.

Mary Sheila earned a scholarship and graduated from Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School. She never lost her love of learning and would continue her education at night school later in life.

She married Joseph C Singer at age 19 and had four children. She worked for PSFS in Philadelphia and then found her way in the insurance business. She made the bold move to borrow money and become a part owner in C.B. Administrators. With courage and foresight she helped the business grow while still being a devoted mother to her 4 children.

She and her husband Joe enjoyed trips to Europe and the Mediterranean. Her second love was gardening. The yard of her home was transformed into multiple gardens and Mary could tell you the names of every flower that bloomed on that property. Mary would continue to live in this house after Joe passed away in 2021.

Mary was involved in establishing a woman’s shelter and a thrift store in Bucks County. She was a voracious reader, a devoted mother, an expert gardener, a talented needle point artist, and a successful business woman. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include four children, Chris Singer (Kathie), Elizabeth Singer (Jim Moe), Joe Singer (Holly), and Phillip Singer (Patricia); seven grandchildren, Lauren, Alex, Andrew, Emma, Milo, Ava, and Pearl; and three great-grandchildren, Francesca, Ryder, and Cora. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Dennis O’Neill and Nora O’Connell.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family February 17, 2024 from 10:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am at Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain. Interment will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.

Contributions in Mary’s name can be made to A Woman’s Place, hcps://awomansplace.org/ .
