Marian E. Castaldi

Marian Elizabeth Castaldi, age 95, died on January 31, 2024. She was the beloved daughter of the late Helen (Greed) and Felix Castaldi, devoted sister of Thomas, Michael, Richard and the late Joseph, William, Frank, Nancy Powers, Helen Lagreca, Edmund and Theresa Bendel, loving Aunt to over 75 nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and proud Godmother to 6 Godchildren.

She graduated from West Catholic High School on June 8th, 1946 and started her first secretary job on June 9th. She enjoyed a long and rewarding career as an Executive Secretary and Executive Assistant at US Steel Corporation, PSFS bank and Villanova University. She retired (for the third time) for good in 1996. She enjoyed her summer vacations in Wildwood and local trips to visit family and friends. She was truly dedicated to her family, never having been married. Upon the death of her parents, Marian assumed the role of matriarch of the family. She enjoyed making photo albums of family history and shared these with the rest of the family. Even when she was retired, she never lost her secretarial sense.

She kept meticulous records of family history and daily events. She especially enjoyed the family gatherings, where she delighted in the company of her brothers and sisters and their spouses and in the antics of her nieces and nephews. She lived by herself for many years and was very happy to join the community at Ann's Choice. She moved into independent living where she volunteered her time and talent. She eventually relocated to the memory care unit. She was always a bright spot in the community, proud to show off her well decorated apartment. She will be greatly missed by her many family members.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing will be held at St. Denis Church, 2401 St Denis Lane, Havertown, PA 19083 on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 10:00am until her Funeral Mass, 10:30am. Her interment will follow the Mass in St. Denis Cemetery.
