Ruth W. Fawley (Weaver)

Ruth W. Fawley, 94, of Doylestown, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2024. She was the wife of the late J. Russell Fawley, Jr.

She was born in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Ralph V. and Mabel Purdy Weaver. She graduated from Frankford High School and attended evening classes at the University of Pennsylvania.

Ruth was an avid sewer and quilter with a sophisticated sense of color. In her youth, she made all her clothes; as an adult she created beautiful quilts, some of which she gifted to fortunate family members and friends. She also loved to garden and would create a patriotic red, white and blue flower garden each summer.

Ruth is survived by her children, Nancy E. Fawley of Dresher, PA, Amanda F. Mele of Rockville, MD, Daniel R. Fawley of Alexandria, KY and three grandchildren, Vincent, Erika and Anna. She was predeceased by her siblings Jack Weaver and Nancy Prigg.

Her family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. preceding the Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue, New Britain, PA 18901. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ruth’s name can be made to the USO.
