In 1995 he received Janney’s Operation Man of the Year Award. He retired after more than 45 years with the firm.

In his retirement years, Jim volunteered at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul as a Volunteer Ambassador.  He loved sharing the history of the church during the many tours he lead through the Basilica.

In addition to his wife Mary, James was the loving father of Regina Schlegel and her husband John of Pottstown, PA, Theresa Fiorelli and her husband Scott of Warrington, PA; grandchildren, Patrick Altemose, Alison Altemose, Anna Schlegel, Daniel Schlegel, Will Schlegel, Danielle Fiorelli, Michelle Fiorelli; siblings, Joseph McCrea and his wife Antoinette, Paul McCrea, Mary Campbell and her husband Bill, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
