Gloria Carroll

Gloria J. Carroll (Acquarola), of Holland died peacefully surrounded by her loving family at St. Mary Medical Center on Monday May 20, 2024.  She was 88 years old.

Gloria was the beloved wife of 56 years to the late Robert “Bob” J. Carroll and the mother-in-law of the late Daniel Renson.

Born in Malvern, PA, Gloria was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, class of 1953. She was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna Santoro Acquarola and the sister of the late Nicholas Jr., Peter, Frank Acquarola, Loretta Aceto, Florence “Dolly” Tate, Lena Curtosi, Eleanor Lyster, and Mary Woelful.

In her early years, Gloria worked at TWA.  After starting a family, she worked hard at many jobs that allowed her to spend the majority of her time with her number one passion, her kids.  She was a nanny, a cook, delivered papers, and worked in retail sales, but her most important job was being an amazing mom. Gloria devoted her life to her family.  She loved to support her kids and grandkids in all their endeavors. Gloria had a huge heart and was very generous to any organization that she believed in: Wounded Warriors, St. Jude’s, and Operation Smile to name a few.  Gloria also showed her generosity by feeding anyone who walked in her front door. The number one request, her amazing spaghetti and meatballs.

Gloria is survived by her six loving and devoted children: Robert Jr (Trish), Tim (Diane), Maureen Renson, Kevin (Terri), Chris (Cyndi), and Dianne Skelton (Calvin), her 17 grandchildren; Robert III (Veronica), Justin, Melanie, Kimberly (John), Nicole (Matt), Stephanie (Brian), Danielle (Jay), Gary (Jill), Hayley, Ryan, Katelyn, MacKenzie, Marleigh, Macee, Shannon (Matt), Kristen, Sean (Aubrie).  She is also survived by her 20 great grandchildren, her brother Victor Acquarola, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Gloria’s family will receive friends on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 10:00am until her Funeral Mass at 11:00am in St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd., Holland, PA 18966.  Her interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to whatever charity fills your heart. That would make her happy!
