Jane F. Gallagher (Yetman)

Jane F Yetman Gallagher, died peacefully on Saturday, May 18, 2024 in Avalon, NJ. She was 80 years old.

Jane was the beloved wife of the late John “Jack” P Gallagher. The couple had shared over 35 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2006.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Jane was the daughter of the late William H and Mary Irene Hennessy Yetman. She was the sister of the late Eileen Rueter and sister-in-law of the late Steven Buffington.

Jane’s faith was an integral part of her life and a source of profound joy and peace. She has a strong devotion to the Blessed Mother and she tried to live her faith daily.

Jane had a wonderful sense of humor and anyone who knew her well or spent any time with her will recall laughing a lot.

Jane spent many of her early years as a teacher and as a part of the Sisters of Mercy. Once married, Jane dedicated her life to raising her boys and helping Jack build a successful business. Their love of travel took them all over the world and inspired their boys and others to cherish the importance of experiencing other cultures.

Jane will be missed tremendously by her sons, JP Gallagher (Sunnie), and Michael Gallagher (Lynn Hoffman) and her seven grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Mercedes Buffington and Mary Agnes Haman (Scott).

Relatives and friends are invited to greet Jane’s family on Friday, June 7, 2024 from 10:00am, until the start of her Funeral Mass at 12:00pm, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Road in Newtown, PA 18940. Her interment will follow at Newtown Cemetery in Newtown, PA.
