Joyce M. Linwood (Kipe)

Joyce M. Linwood of Warrington, formerly of Newtown, died peacefully on Friday May 24, 2024 at her home with her family by her side.

She was 74.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the beloved wife of Patrick C. Linwood for the past 38 years. Daughter of the late Elwood and Margaret (Valentine) Kipe.

Joyce was a resident of Holland from 1998 to 2006 and Newtown from 2006 until moving to Warrington in 2021. She was a graduate of Little Flower High School for Girls, class of 1967. She worked as an Executive Secretary for Provident Mutual Insurance Company from 1968 to 1997 and as a Customer Service Manager for Reliance Standard Life Insurance Company from 1997 to 2009 when she retired.

Joyce was a communicant of St Andrew’s for many years and joined the staff at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Newtown in 2002 as a Secretary and retired in 2021. She was an avid reader; enjoyed working at St. Andrew and was always helping others. She was a prayerful woman and always instilled positive virtues in her children and grandchildren. Having family around was something that Joyce looked forward to. She will be remembered for her loving smile and gentle ways.  

She is predeceased by her parents, her brothers Elwood and John “Jack”, and infant sister, Carol Ann.

In addition to her beloved husband Patrick, she is survived by her children, Megan Linwood, Maureen Linwood, and Daniel Linwood (Jonathan Sankovich) and her two grandchildren, Carter and Julian. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet her family on Thursday May 30, 2024 at St. Andrew Catholic Church 81 Swamp Rd. Newtown, from 10:00am until words of Remembrances 10:50am her Funeral Mass will be at 11:00am. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery.
