Kathryn "Katey" Howes (Marcinkowski)

Kathryn “Katey” Howes died suddenly on Monday, May 20, 2024 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA.  Born in Dearborn, MI in February 1977, she was the beloved daughter of George and Patricia (Hogan) Marcinkowski.  Katey was married to the love of her life, Michael Howes, for 23 years.

In addition to her husband and parents, Katey is survived by her three children Chloe, Elena, and Elfia.  She will also be missed by her brother Tim and his wife Emily, her sister Joanne and her husband Greg, her 2 nephews, and many other family and friends.

Katey began her career as a physical therapist, treating people with traumatic brain injury for 10 years.  After Elfia’s birth, she decided to pursue her dream of becoming an author. She published six children’s picture books and won numerous awards for her work, bringing out amazing themes of joy, embracing differences, and encouraging children and adults alike to bring their light into the world in their own way.

Katey’s family will receive friends on Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 1:00pm until her Celebration of Life Service 3:00 pm at Joseph A Fluehr Funeral Home, 800 Richboro Road, at Holland Road, Richboro, PA 18954.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to HomeFront NJ, a charity to which the Howes family has been close to for several years; Gift of Life, who helped ensure that Katey’s tragic passing became a moment of hope for others; or The Katey Howes Fund at the Highlights Foundation scholarship, which will use this to endeavor to help support authors trying to bring their voice into the world to have the opportunity to do so.
