Stephanie "Tootsie" June Hearn

Stephanie “Tootsie” Hearn, of Doylestown, PA died on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Doylestown Hospital. She was 75. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William Strykowski Sr. and Stephanie “Stella” Metelski Strykowski and sister-in-law of the late Margaret “Margie” Strykowski.

Tootsie grew up in Philadelphia and was a 1966 graduate of Hallahan High School. Always a strong, independent, and capable woman, Tootsie held a career as a Tax Examiner with the IRS for more than 20 years, until her retirement in 2009. Tootsie moved to Bucks County in 2007 to be closer to her family.

Tootsie was known for her endless generosity and dedication to her family and friends. She spent many years caring for her father, who coined her nickname when she was just a baby. She loved to take trips to the beach with family and dance with them to her favorite songs. Most recently she resided at Grundy Hall where she made many great friends. She was constantly on the move and was deeply involved with Bingo Nights, Concerts in Central Park, and going out to the diner. Her spunky spirit will be carried on by those who held Tootsie so close to their heart.  Her outgoing personality, loving spirit and happiness will long be remembered by her family and friends.

She is survived by her brother William “Billy” Strykowski of Warminster, and her four children: Stephanie Heller and her husband, Tom, of Chalfont; Dana Hensel and her husband, Brian, of Chalfont; Cathy Viola and her husband, Michael, of Cherry Hill, NJ; and Edwin T. Hearn, Jr. and his wife, Melissa, of Richboro.

She loved and adored her 11 grandchildren: Brittany Buck (Walter), Tommy Heller (Kamila), Brian Hensel Jr. (Sarah), Shane Hensel (Sigourney), Danielle Hensel, Michael Viola, Matthew Viola, Melissa Viola, Edwin M. Hearn, Emma Hearn, Julianna Hearn, and 2 great-grandchildren, Christian and Camryn Buck. She took great pride in her family’s accomplishments and celebrations.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 9:30 am until her Funeral Mass, 11:00 am at St. Charles Borromeo, 1731 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020. Her interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tootsie’s memory may be made to the Bingo Fund at Grundy Hall, c/o 1290 Almshouse Road, Doylestown, PA 18901.
