Maryellen Walton

On June 19th, 2024, Maryellen Walton passed away peacefully at home with family, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion and vitality. She embraced life with grace and enthusiasm, continually inspiring those around her with every step. She was 77 years young.

In 1946, Maryellen was born to Thelma and William Campbell in Philadelphia, PA.  She met the love of her life, Robert Walton, at age 16 and for 56 wonderful years of marriage, they shared a beautiful life filled with family, adventures and love. Their union blessed them with two children, Jennifer (s. Matt Bender) and Evan (s. Kerry Walton), five cherished grandchildren: Julia, Stephanie, Grace, Audrey and Rhys Wyatt; and one great-grandson, Roman.

Maryellen graduated from Cardinal Dougherty and went on to work at the Philadelphia Inquirer for several years before moving to Doylestown with her family in 1972 and getting her real estate license.  For over 50 years, Maryellen dedicated herself to real estate in Bucks County, where she forged enduring and meaningful relationships that spanned generations. Her impeccable reputation and extensive knowledge stood as a testament to her professionalism among both clients and colleagues alike.

Beyond her career, Maryellen was an exceptional painter and artist, finding this passion later in life she created stunning works filled with vibrance, nature and abstract influence. She also had a deep love for classic movies and music, gardening and a compassion for all animals - curating a scenic sanctuary just outside of her door. Maryellen created a home that was always blooming, outside and in- filled with warmth and laughter, family and friends.

Maryellen’s smile was beautiful and infectious, her personality was magnetic, and her heart welcoming to all who crossed her path. She loved life. And she lived life, making every moment count.

After a valiant and vigorous 2-year fight against cancer, she leaves behind a profound void which she would insist be filled with inspiration: to live and love your family more, to meet each day with kindness, courage and grace, and to always learn something new.

A celebration and memorial service will be held Thursday, July 11th at the Joseph A.
