William S. Pavlik Sr.
William “Bill” Stephen Pavlik, longtime resident of Holland and most recently of Blue Bell, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. He was 95.
Bill was born on February 6, 1929 in Cliffside Park, New Jersey to the late Stephen and Anna (Polak) Pavlik.
Bill grew up and graduated High School in Cliffside Park. After High School he worked for an eyeglass company as a precision lens grinder. Bill followed in his brothers’ footsteps and enlisted in the service (Army). He was a radio operator, private and then became corporal in service to his country. Bill completed his military service and used his radio operator experience to work for NJ Bell Telephone. A short time later he met his wife, Jane Iniewicz the love of his life (d.2004) in 1954 and, at the age of 26 married in October 1955. Bill and Jane lived in Ridgefield, N.J. then they bought a house on the street Bill grew up on in Cliffside Park and along with Jane helped raise their four children, Billy, Ed, Janet and Christine. Bill provided for his family working for the phone company as a lineman, climbing telephone poles, installing wires and phone connections in all different, sometimes hard to reach places including the George Washington Bridge. In 1974, Bill requested a work transfer so Jane could be closer to her family he moved the family to beautiful Bucks County, Holland PA. Bill’s house was always warm and welcoming as he greeted you with a big smile, making you feel welcome, and share a story and a laugh. He and Jane loved to go Polka dancing whether locally on a Saturday night with friends or a dancing music filled weekend away in the Catskills. They also loved to travel as far west as Hawaii and east to tour Poland, lots of times with polka music playing somewhere. Christmas time was always magical around the Pavlik home. Bill, called Pop-Pop by his grandchildren, would dress up as Santa and give out the presents to his children and grandchildren on Christmas Eve. Bill was proud of his home he had the best manicured lawn in the neighborhood and loved gardening, growing vegetables and tending to flowers and shrubs. Bill always supported his grandkids and great grandkids going to sporting events, recitals, graduations and birthdays. Bill was an avid fisherman and loved going after the Big Mouths. Bill and Jane also volunteered with their children and grandchildren for many years at the Shrine of Czestochowa during the Polish festival. Bill was a devote Catholic who while in Holland attended church every Sunday as a parishioner of St. Bede the Venerable Church and often volunteered for Adoration services. Several years after Jane’s passing, Bill started sharing time going to movies, shows and polka dancing with Marie Klincewicz of Conshohocken, PA. Bill and Marie shared a lot of the same friends, interests and most of all enjoyed each other’s company at the right time in their lives. They too traveled the country and Europe. When the daily routines of life became more challenging, Bill and Marie moved to a retirement community called Normandy Farms Estates, Blue Bell, PA. He raised a family who loved him dearly and would do anything for him and made sure he was never alone.
Survivors include four children, William S. Pavlik, Jr. (Tracy), Edward Pavlik (Karen), Janet Pavlik, Christine Petrowsky (Gary); eight grandchildren, Heather, Kerri, Kyle, Lauren (Jon), Edward, Jessica, Sean, and Trevor; four great-grandchildren, Wesley, Owen, Alaina, and Noah.
