Henry T. Stanton

Henry T. Stanton passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, surrounded by his family at his residence in Doylestown, PA. He was 92 years old.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, Henry was the son of the late Theodore and Madeline (Sarnick) Stanton.

Although Henry lived most of his life in Mountain Top, PA where he built his unique brick home, he also lived in central Florida before moving to Doylestown, PA eleven months ago.

Henry was the beloved husband of Ann Marie (Schuetz) Stanton; the couple shared 69 years of friendship, laughter, love and family.

He enjoyed spending time in the garden growing the best tomatoes, cultivating the sweetest apples and digging up horseradish roots. If not in the garden, Henry could be found in the garage engaged in a variety of activities such as creating beautiful wooden heirlooms for the family, fermenting sauerkraut, juicing apples and making wine.

In their earlier days, Henry and Ann Marie could often be found cutting the rug with their square-dancing friends throughout the Wyoming Valley.

He was also instrumental in starting up the Citizens Voice Newspaper and had been an active member of the St. Jude’s Knights of Columbus.

In addition to his wife Ann Marie, Henry will be missed by his children, Terri Stanton of Norfolk, VA, Susan Kenney and her husband Jim of Bradenton, FL, Ted Stanton and his wife Pamela of Lancaster, OH, Lanie Sjostedt and her husband Philip of Doylestown, PA, Amy Stanton Reinert of Gotha, FL, Juliet Casey and her husband Tim of Bear, DE; 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, the late Marion Gorham, Geraldine Frantz, Lorraine Palladino and Robert Stanton, as well as many loved extended family members and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet Henry’s family on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 9:30am, until the start of his Funeral Mass at 10:30am, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 235 E.
