Michael, you had the gentlest soul. And you are loved by so many. Your suffering is over. You are home.

Condolences for Michael D. Burke
With all you had been through, never once did you complain or cry woe is me. It takes a great deal of strength to accept one's lot in life. You did it with grace. Always making others feel comfortable and laughing. God Bless you. Your family awaits you in Heaven while we mourn.
Love, Molly
Mike, you and Ted were like brothers to me and I admired your grace, your attitude, and your courage. We all will miss you terribly.
To Peg and the rest of the families;
Our hearts go out to you on this very sad occasion.
Please accept our sincere condolences.

My brother has left our 3on 3 team, second to none @ Stone Harbor 96th St...to make it a trio w Ted and Ease was providential for me...altar boys during Vatican II, paperboys for the Bulletin with a boss who went to a concert for a weekend and came back from Woodstock a week later, serving the Special Edition for Neil Armstrong's Walk on the Moon, advancing to Windrift/Golden Inn and "Summer Love"
Michael Dennis Burke...Gentleman, Wit and Humor, Guts and Courage, Love...may we pass it on forever!!
Missing you already, Uncle Mikey. Thank you for the memories of being loved - and laughing. You were a role model to me in so many ways. I’ll always carry a piece of you in my heart, and knowing you’re in heaven gives me courage. My big love to Peg, Maura, all of the Burkes and Finucans - and all of the other people who were lucky enough to know Mike.
Oh Peg -we loved Mike so much. He was my monkey butler. And to say he knew how to make people laugh is a mild statement. He will be so missed. Love to you and Maura.
Jack and I are so saddened by the loss of our dear friend, Michael. He fought his battle with cancer courageously and without complaint. We will miss sitting on the deck, eating breakfast and going to the gym. But most of all we will miss Mike's sense of humor. He could always make us laugh with his satirical and irreverent wit. Rest In Peace. Sweet Michael Love, Denise and Jack
Dear Peg,
My heart goes out to you on the passing of your beloved husband Mike. You were always there for Mike, not just at the end of his life but throughout his life. I have never known a more devoted spouse.
I have many fond memories of time spent with you and Mike. I will miss Mike’s friendship, his wonderful sense of humor, and his great laugh.
My most sincere condolences to you, Maura, and the entire Burke family.
I met Mike in September 1968 on our first day at St. Joe's Prep, in our homeroom 1E. Mike was the funniest guy in a class full of funny guys (close competition from Vince O'Donnell), and throughout high school I knew him as a fun and unpredictable guy.
Years later, I reconnected with Mike and it was then that I came to know what a caring, thoughtful, loving man he was - and still funny and unpredictable.
I know he will be remembered by many who knew and loved him.
