Roy P. Kershaw Jr. Service Information

Roy P. Kershaw, Jr. of Chalfont, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. He was 64.

He was the beloved husband of Kimberly M. McColl Kershaw for 36 years.

Roy was born on May 22, 1959 in Abington to the late Roy, Sr. and Janet Ronemus Kershaw.

Roy was a highly successful tax accountant and was a partner with a local Accounting Firm–Baum, Smith, & Clemens, LLP.

In his personal life Roy had a passion for sports which began in childhood with baseball and basketball. This love of sports continued throughout his life, demonstrated through coaching and encouraging his children, Andrew and Ashley. This bond through sports took the family to Cooperstown, NewYork, where the family had many memorable vacations and formed life-long friendships. Roy lovingly called this group “the Cooperstown Crew”.

A few of the hobbies and activities that brought joy to Roy include golf, gardening, fishing, and vacationing at the beach in Ocean City, NewJersey. Roy loved the Jersey Shore and considered it one of his happy places. During the summertime Roy could be found on the back deck on Asbury Avenue, Ocean City, New Jersey, listening to Bruce, having laughs and drinks with friends and family. Ice cream or a dessert to cap off the night was sure to follow if Roy had anything to say about it. In his spare time, Roy was either on the greens at his new Country Club, Talamore, or winning golf competitions such as the “Doylestown Brothers Tournament."

When he wasn’t golfing, Roy was in his backyard watering, weeding, fertilizing, or tending to the most impressive backyard garden in all of Bucks County.

What brought Roy the most joy in his life was his family, Kim, Andrew, and Ashley. There was not a single person who loved and cared for his family more than Roy. He always put the needs of his loving wife and children before his own.

One thing is for sure, Roy was always someone who was there for you. He became whatever you needed at that moment. He could be the jokester at the party, the tax and financial advisor, or the friend to spend a quiet moment with. Roy was cut from a cloth unlike any other, and there is no one out there quite like him. His amazing qualities are irreplaceable and will be forever missed.

Along with his wife Kimberly, Roy is survived by his son, Andrew Kershaw and his partner Laura Militello, Ashely Ruditys and her husband Brian; brothers, Jamie Kershaw and his wife Beth, Ed Kershaw and his wife Valerie. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Hugh McColl; sister-in-law, Karen Hofmann and her husband Kurt; brother-in-law, Hughie McColl, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Roy is predeceased by his parents and mother-in-law, Joan McColl.

Roy’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from10:00 am until his memorial service at 12:00 pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain, PA18901. His interment will take place privately at a later date.
