Jerome D. DePaul

Jerome D. DePaul of Harleysville, PA died peacefully at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest surrounded by his loving and devoted family on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at the age of 73.

Jerome, or known by those close to him as “Jerry”, was the beloved husband of 53 years to Sue M. (Szabo) DePaul.

Jerry was a proud veteran of the United States Army National Guard and the owner and operator of a successful security system company for 40 years.  He was an avid golfer, traveler, connoisseur of fine red wines…particularly his cousin Joe’s. He enjoyed watching horse racing and an enthusiastic Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers fan.  Jerry was the true definition of a family man.  He was a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. 

While his children were young, Jerry enjoyed coaching little league sports teams, spending days at the shore, and traveling with his family. Jerry and his wife enjoyed wintering in Florida and spending time watching his family flourish.  Though he will be greatly missed, he will be eternally loved and remembered by everyone who was in his life and loved by him.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Jerome and Maryanna (Zulli) DePaul and brother of the late Daniel DePaul.

In addition to his beloved wife Sue, Jerry is survived by his loving children Deana Herbert and her husband Scott of Lansdale, Jason DePaul and his wife Carolyn of Doylestown, and Brian DePaul and his wife Heather of Simpsonville, SC.  He is also survived by his sisters Donna Hosefros and Lynn Troxell (Rob), his brothers James DePaul (Janet) and Michael DePaul (Maureen), his twelve adoring grandchildren: Ashlee, Dylan, Taylor (Mason), Carly (Colin), Alex (Tiffany), Dylan A., Julia (Alex), Derek, Justin, Peyton, Seth, and Kyle. his great grandson Parker, his canine companion Cha-Cha and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jerome’s family will receive friends on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 9:00am until his memorial service at 10:30am in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901.  His interment will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to either Tunnels to Towers or the National Kidney Foundation.
