David A. Pitler

David A. Pitler, of New Hope, Pennsylvania died on Sunday, May 8, 2011, at his residence. He was 56.

He was the beloved husband of 24 years to Patricia “Patti” Johnson Pitler. Born in Albany, New York, he was the son of Richard and Jeanne Higbie Pitler.

Dave was a resident of New Hope for the past 11 years. He grew up in Pittsburgh where he enjoyed many great friends, sports, and playing the guitar. Dave also enjoyed surfing and long walks on the Nags Head beaches of North Carolina. In recent years Dave participated with his son Chris in local charity bike races.

A 1977 graduate of Colgate University with a degree in Economics, Dave was an outstanding swimmer and captain of Colgate’s swimming and water polo teams. Dave worked for BioClinica of Newtown, where he happily served as President, Bioimaging Services Division.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his devoted daughter and son, Lauren E. Pitler and Christopher S. Pitler, his parents Richard and Jeanne Pitler of Amelia Island, Florida, and his 2 brothers, Steven P. Pitler and his wife Michele of McLean, Virginia and Andrew T. Pitler of Chicago, Illinois. Dave also leaves behind many wonderful friends, neighbors and co-workers who will miss him greatly.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 11:00 am at Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church 1680 Aquetong Road, New Hope, Pennsylvania, 18938. Dave’s family will receive condolences immediately following the service. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust Street, Phila., PA 19103.
