Frank M. Yost

Frank M. Yost of Chalfont and formerly a resident of both Buckingham and Feasterville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at New Seasons at New Britain, just weeks after his wife. He was 89.

Frank was the beloved husband of 70 years to Mary G. Hickman Yost who passed away on March 20th, 2019.

Born in Philadelphia, He was the son of the late Francis M. and Theresa Letscher Yost.

Frank graduated from the former North Public High School in Philadelphia before going on to serve proudly with the United States Army during the Korean War. After returning home he led a long career as a flooring installer and went on to own his own carpet installation businesses, Scottsville Carpet and Neshaminy Valley Carpet.  When he retired from the flooring business, Frank worked at Northampton Country Club until the age of 84 where he worked as a starter and was also able to enjoy his passion of golf.

Frank was active in the community having served as President of the Floor Covering Association of Greater Philadelphia, he was active in the Feasterville Business Association, and was a 4th Degree Knight with Knights of Columbus-Regina Coeli in Philadelphia.  He also was an active Rotarian, a member of the VFW Post 3258 in Chalfont, and was a past parishioner of Assumption B.V.M. in Feasterville and St. Andrew’s in Newtown, and most recently with St. Jude in Chalfont. 

Most of all, Frank will be remembered for his steadfast love and devotion to his family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Frank is survived by his children and, Michael Yost and his wife Maria of Holland, Kevin Yost and his wife Kim of Lansdale, Gerry Yost and his wife Patty of Manahawkin, NJ and Dana Hartman and her husband Thomas of Doylestown.  He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Christine, Colleen, Meghan, Gerard, Michael, Alex, Matthew, Juliana, Andrew and Zachary, and 7 great grandchildren, Nicholas, Luca, Gianni, Mario, Adrianna, Alexa and Mila, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 9:00am until his Funeral Mass 10:00 am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 East State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901. Frank’s interment will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the JDRF, Eastern PA Chapter, 555 Croton Road, Suite 111, King of Prussia, PA  19406.
