Charles E. Campbell Jr.

Charles E. Campbell Jr. of Holland passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Holy Redeemer Hospice with his loving family by his side. He was 93.

Charles was the husband of the late Nancy Downey Campbell and father of the late Nancy Davis.

Born in Philadelphia he was the son of the late Charles E. and Catherine Kelly Campbell.

Charles graduated from North Catholic High School and went on to serve with the United States Navy during World War II.  Following his military service, Charles spent his career in banking and retired from First Pennsylvania Bank where he served as Vice President of Finance.

Charles was an avid sports fan and over the years was a dedicated coach for his son’s teams and was also steadfast in his support of his grandson Robert’s sporting events.  He never missed an opportunity to cheer on those he loved.  Charles also enjoyed playing golf and was a long time member of the Sandy Run Country Club in Oreland.

Most of all, Charles will be remembered for his devotion to his family, especially as a proud and loving Pop-Paz to his adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Charles is survived by his children, Charles Campbell (Nancy) of  Holalnd, PA, Robert Campbell of Arizona, and Patricia Campbell-Philipp of Holland, PA.  He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Robert Philipp (Lauren) who looked up to him as a father figure, and Ryan and Gregory Campbell; two great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Gavin Philipp; and his son-in-law, James Davis.

In addition to his wife and parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brothers, Roger and Robert Campbell.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM in the Chapel at the Monastery of St. Clare, 1271 Langhorne-Newtown Rd., Langhorne, PA 19047 (for GPS, 1317 Dogwood St., Langhorne, PA 19047).  His interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.
