Alfred Grogan

Alfred Grogan of Doylestown died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, August 7, 2020.  He was 91.

Al was the beloved husband of 66 years to Jeanne J. Morton Grogan, and the father of the late Shelagh Bowen.

Born at home in Bound Brook, NJ he was the son of the late James J. and Catherine E. Boyle Grogan.

Al was a proud Veteran of the Army who served during the Korean War.  He started his career as a lab technician at Ansco, where he worked for over 20 years.  Al then made a shift to the wholesale food brokerage industry where he ended his career as a regional manager at ConAgra. He and Jeanne loved traveling and made many trips to Europe with close friends. He was an avid sports fan; being especially passionate about football where he had a knack for citing sport trivia statistics from past decades. Upon his retirement, Al devoted many hours volunteering for organizations that supported the most vulnerable members of our communities.

In addition to his beloved wife Jeanne, Al is survived by his loving and devoted children: Gail Munley of Lansdale, PA, Susan Albert and her husband Bruce of Belmont, MA, and James Grogan and his wife Melissa of Minnetonka, MN.  He is also survived by his twelve loving grandchildren, one dear great grandson and many loving nieces and nephews.

Al’s Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 10:30AM  in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 215 East Court Street Doylestown, PA 18901.  His interment will follow at Doylestown Cemetery. Given the current pandemic and the need to adhere to appropriate travel precautions, the funeral mass will be live streamed. The family asks that all attendees wear a mask and practice social distancing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Al’s memory may be made to the Sacred Heart School in Camden New Jersey or to Doylestown FISH.
