Lillian Morrone (Maiorana)
Lillian P. Morrone of Newtown died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. She was 81.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Charles C. Morrone, Jr., devoted daughter of the late James and Lillian Rupp Maiorana, sister of the late James Maiorana, and sister of Connie Tolchin (Jack).
Lillian was a resident of Bucks County for over 25 years having formerly lived in Huntingdon Valley. She was a graduate of St. Hubert’s High School for Girls, class of 1956. Lillian was a loving Mother who loved to use her cooking and baking talents, especially during the holidays, for family and friends as well as teaching her children and grandchildren the secrets she has acquired over her lifetime.
Her artistic talents were to be admired, she worked with watercolors and pencil to do some beautiful paintings and sketches. Lillian and her late husband enjoyed traveling to many parts of the world, boating, and fishing in Ocean City and Somers Point, NJ, with family and friends.
Lillian was a woman of substance and fortitude, and her family always came first and foremost. She will be remembered for her quick wit, selflessness, and her tender and loving ways.
Lillian is survived by her children and spouses; Charlene A. Woolman and her husband Steven B., Dr. Diane Morrone Vassalluzzo, and her husband Dr. Christopher Vassalluzzo and Donna M. Morrone-Jarrett. She was the dear sister of Connie Tolchin and her husband Jack and sister-in-law of Arlene Maiorana. Lillian was blessed with 8 loving grandchildren; Laura, Nicole, Jeffrey, Kevin, Stephanie, Gianna, Gabriella and Jonathon.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Friday, June 18, 2021, at St. Andrew Catholic Church 81 Swamp Rd. Newtown, from 10:00 am, until her Funeral Mass 11:00am. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, 333 W. County Line Road, Huntington Valley, Pa, 19006.
