Thomas B. DiPaolo
Thomas Benjamin DiPaolo of Churchville, PA, passed away on April 29, 2023, surrounded by his family. Tom, known to those that loved him dearly as Tommy, was born on August 21, 1943, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Thomas D. and Anna R. DiPaolo.
He was the loving husband of Barbara J. DiPaolo (née Crease) for 47 years. Along with his wife, Tom’s memory survives through his devoted children: Christina Mullen and her husband Christopher of Springtown, PA, Suzanne DiPaolo and her fiancé Alan Newman of Morrisville, PA, Dominic DiPaolo of Ashland, OR, Vincent DiPaolo of Churchville, PA, Nicholas DiPaolo of Churchville, PA, Paul DiPaolo and his fiancé Conor Rector of San Diego, CA; his grandchildren: James and Ivy Salfiti, Andrew and Chloe Mullen, Jack and Elizabeth Newman, and Jill Harvey. He is also survived by his sister, Roseann Kiszely and her husband Stephen, nieces Diane Burke, Kimberly Kiszely, Christine Kerrigan, and nephew Stephen Kiszely, and their families; along with countless other friends and extended family members.
Tom grew up in the Olney section of Philadelphia attending school at St. Helena’s then Cardinal Dougherty and later earning a degree at LaSalle University. He started a thriving business, Delaware Valley Shipping and Packaging now known as Delaware Valley Packaging Group, selling shipping and packaging supplies with his brother-in-law, Stephen Kiszely, in 1967. The company continues to be successful to this day. Tom was loved and admired by his employees and strived to create a family atmosphere in the workplace.
Tom was an easy going and quiet man. He dedicated his life to service and never did anything for stature or praise. He was good because it was the right thing to do. To say he was humble would be an understatement, although his biggest source of pride was his family. He loved them unconditionally and devoted his life to supporting and providing for them. He was a kind, honest, generous, and decent man, who touched the hearts of many.
He coached CYO little league soccer for 13 years even though he never played soccer himself. He taught his players sportsmanship and to play the game for learning and fun. His religion was a very important part of his life, and he served as a Eucharistic Minister at St Vincent de Paul church for many years. After retiring from Delaware Valley Packaging Group, Tom enjoyed the company of the friends he met at the gym and volunteering at St. Mary’s Hospital, and the neighbors he would see along his many walks in the neighborhood.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the DiPaolo family on May 3, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. until the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 654 Hatboro Road, Richboro, PA 18954 with interment to follow immediately at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
