Dr. David A. Little Service Information

David A. Little passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at his home in Newtown, PA. He was 72 years old. 

Born on May 2, 1951 in Jacksonville, IL he was the son of the late Francis and Audrey Little. 

The eldest of five, David was a protective older brother and a conscientious son. From a young age he loved sports, both watching and playing. In school he played football, basketball, and baseball. Despite moving out of Illinois later in life, he was a life-long Cubs fan, a trait he shared with his father. 

David earned a PhD in Chemistry from Northern Illinois University where he met his wife, Cindy. After earning his doctorate, he chose to do postdoctoral research at the University of Chicago. He progressed to a position with Dearborn Chemical, eventually becoming a senior group leader of the exploratory research division. His evolving career eventually brought him and his family to Pennsylvania. When work called him back to Illinois as the Director of Research for Dober Research Works, he chose to commute every other week instead of uprooting his family, continuing for 10 years until his retirement. David published multiple papers and had some of his work patented over his career.  

Above all, David was an honest, hard-working family man. He and Cindy enjoyed cycling and hiking along the Delaware canal and in state parks. He was continually involved in the activities of his children throughout their childhood. He encouraged their passion for music, reading, sports, and the love of ice cream. When he wasn’t spending time with his family, David could be found playing billiards, bocce, talking with friends, taking care of his aquarium, tackling home improvement projects, or enjoying nature working out in his yard. He loved a challenging puzzle or game and was the person you wanted on your team when it came to trivia. 

In addition to his wife Cindy, David is remembered by his loving children Ian Little and Rachel Little; siblings, Steve Little and his wife Darlene, Robin Brown and her husband Randy, Karen Jane Little and her husband Tim Roberts, Roger Little and his partner Kathy Androschko as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

His family invites relatives and friends to celebrate his life with them from 10:00 a.m. until his memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Joseph A Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown Richboro Road (at Holland Road) in Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family.
