As the oldest cousin Joe was in charge of keeping us younger cousins in line. Generally he did a good job except when the thrill of grabbing a few cold ones at a family party at his house was too much to pass up. The “older” cousins would have a few sips down by the creek. We were so sly that I’m sure all the uncles knew.
Joe always had the best vehicles: mustangs, vans and cycles. While years added up and the miles kept us apart, I will always remember the times we spent growing up in a large extended family. Joe, thanks for the memories. Say hello to Uncle Joe and Aunt Lucy for me.
