Condolences for Edward W. "Ed" McAllister

Corey SherrardFriday, June 11th

Uncle Ed was a special man. He definitely lit up any room he walked into. I’m glad I got to see him when we were up during the hurricane even though it was a brief five minute chat I cherish those minutes I had with him. I am so sorry for the loss of such an important part of the family. His legacy will live on in so many ways. Love y’all from your family down south

Eddie,
You truly were a man that all men should try to replicate. A friend of the highest magnitude, a Father of the utmost character and the most loving husband possible.
You my friend were also the best golf partner a golfer could hope to have in life. I loved every moment we were together. God Bless you and your family. Karen we love you!

Dear Karen & family,
I was so sorry to have read this. Ed was certainly a great guy; generous and funny. I enjoyed our times together at Christmas time and never will forget. My sincere condolences.

Karen and family,
It's been a few years since I have spent much time with Eddie. Way back to Mershon's place on Wrights Rd, then to Churchville and playing poker there with the guys. Softball and golf. Then on to your new house in Washington Crossing. Watching the girls grow up in their earlier years and watching the pride on his face around them. His love for you always obvious. Ed had a very unique way of always making you feel as if you were exactly the person he wanted to see and that you were his best friend. He did that with everyone and that was his gift to the world. everybody wanted to be around him and "soak" in that feeling that with him we were all Family. I'll miss having that opportunity.
My very heartfelt sympathy for your loss.

To the McAllister family,
Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of this blessed man. I saw Ed in May at a breakfast that the boys from the Class of 1975 hold 5 times a year. His comment to me was "How are you Mr. Mac and how is your wife doing?" My wife had major brain surgery 3 years ago and Ed never failed to ask how she was doing. That will be my fondest memory of Ed. Always caring about others more than himself. "Caring" is the word that will stay with me as I think of Ed and pray for his wonderful family.

Thank you Ed for your friendship and willingness to help solve problems. I will always remember that cold winter's evening just before Christmas when you resolved John's office collapsed pipe emergency and then stayed to chat and enjoy wine slushies. Burrrrrr. You will be missed. My condolences to Karen and your entire family. Hugs, Carolyn Newsom
