Condolences for Christopher L. Messina

George M FrattaraWednesday, July 20th

My condolences to the Messina family. Each time I saw Chris he was always laughing and had a big smile on his face. I very much enjoyed watching him play in his classic rock bands because he put his heart and soul into every song and didn’t just go through the motions. He was a true leader at Archbishop Wood who made a tremendous difference in many students athletes’ lives and a was a great very hard working family man. All great memories of a Chris.

One of my first memories of visiting my cousins up in Philly was when we all went to the zoo. I was so tired from walking around I went up to what I thought was my dad and yanked on his leg to be held. It was uncle Chris and he immediately picked me up. I was so surprised it wasn’t dad but I remember laughing with him as he carried me around the zoo.
Rest in peace to an incredible dad, husband, and uncle.

My sincere condolences and prayers to Cathy and the entire Messina family. Chris was a great man who loved his family, coaching football and music. I consider myself fortunate to have been the Sound tech / roadie with him and Dirt Cheap for over 20 years and enjoying doing gigs with him and also going to concerts with him. He will be sorely missed by all of us😢

Dear Cathy and family,
I was saddened and shocked to hear of Chris' passing. I met Chris when he started at TOLAS. He was always so kind and helpful, always with a smile. I enjoyed working with him over the years, and counted him a friend. I was honored to be at your wedding and hearing about your expanding family through the years.
Unfortunately I will be out of town and unable to express my deepest condolences to you and family in person. Know that you all are in my prayers.
In deepest sympathy,
Beverly Stoltz

Heaven has another angel. My uncle Chris was the dearest man I think of growing up. So many times we listened to music together. Because of his musical influence on me, I fell in love with groups like Pink Floyd, Queen, Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Just to name a few. I will cherish his abilities on keyboards when I saw him play with Dirt Cheap. I remember in 1986, a outdoor show at Six Flags Great Adventure featuring Peter Gabriel. From drinking blackberry, I was too intoxicated to drive. Uncle Chris drove me home as I lay passed out in the backseat. Another show in 1982 was local favorite Todd Rungren at the Philly Zoo. Many more memories. When I heard the news, I was completely blown away, my heart sank. He was a incredible uncle. I really want to be there from Altoona, but no gas money or even proper clothes. Please except my dearest condolences, for the entire Messina family. God Bless

Chris what can I say other than I truly valued the friendship we had over the years! My only regrets was that I didn’t know you sooner. I enjoyed every single time we played music together and all of the lessons you gave me around sound. My heart goes out to your family and I wish I had known you time was so short. I was hoping to see you again. My you Rest In Peace my friend until we meet again.
